My type of easy exercises to lose belly fat at home fast
To get rid of your belly fat fast, you have to stop doing crunches.
Don’t get me wrong; crunches are great exercises in toning your core muscles, but it won’t burn your belly fat.
It’s frustrating to see websites telling you otherwise. So, hopefully, this article will better inform and educate people in losing the dreaded belly fat.
Moving on…
The type of exercise to lose belly fat is cardio.
Cardio gets your heart pumping for a prolonged period.
We all know that cardio is something that we would love to skip when it comes to getting fit. But, sadly, cardio is essential to improving your wellbeing.
Not only will cardio help you lose weight, but it also keeps your ticker keep ticking.
But, how long can you keep doing cardio? Do you think you can keep running daily? How about going on the bike machine 5 times a week? I bet you’re dreading the thought already.
Cardio is a chore, I know, postpone it until you get told off.
Keep in mind, the benefits of cardio are amazing, and you need to keep doing it to stay healthy. So, embrace the chore.
Don’t even think about stopping your exercise routine once you lose the weight, that’s a recipe for disaster. You will eventually put the weight back on.
So how can you keep doing cardio years from now?
In a study comparing high-intensity interval training and steady-state training, they found that the participants preferred steady-state.
Even though HIIT was time-efficient, the subjects did not enjoy it at all.

You need to do the type of cardio that is easy, sustainable over the long term, and fun.
So, here are my top 6 easy exercises to lose belly fat at home fast.
Top 6 cardio to lose belly fat
1. Walking – best cardio exercise to lose belly fat at home
Walking is my number 1 cardio to lose belly fat.
Some of you may be asking why? Walking is so lame…
Alright, ok, it’s somewhat lame. But hear me out.
It may not be as thrilling as running, boxing, or skipping ropes, but it works.
The following are MY reasons why it is my number 1 cardio to lose belly fat:
- Easy on the joints.
- Easy to do.
- Sustainable.
- Cheap.
Easy on the joints
Walking is one of the cardio exercises that has less impact on your joints. Especially when you have joint problems such as arthritis.
According to Harvard Health:
“Taking a walk on most days of the week can ease arthritis pain and improve other symptoms. It’s also good for the heart, brain, and every other part of the body.”
Easy to do
You, me, toddlers to adults are already doing it. There’s no need to learn new things or have a particular trait to be able to walk. It’s made for beginners to advance and in between.
Sustainable
You can walk for hours if you want to at your optimum fat burning zone. Can you run in the same intensity for 1 hour without impacting your knee joints? You can walk every day all your life and won’t sustain injuries.
Cheap
You can walk anywhere, but you do need shoes. In certain parts of the world, people walk barefoot. So, walking is free for them.
Depending on the shoes you buy for walking, getting started with walking is cheap.

Fun
Walking can be fun. You can walk with your friends and catch up. If your friend is far away, you can call her while walking. You can watch Netflix or Youtube on your phone.
But you can’t do this at home?
Of course, you can do this exercise at home. You can walk around the house, outside the house, or in circles if you don’t have space. If you have the money, buy a treadmill. You can do anything, just be creative.
Shadowboxing
If you want some cardiovascular activity that looks sexy, here it is. Granted, you know what you are doing.
The first thing that comes to mind when you think shadowboxing is all about punching, right? No, every boxer needs to work on all aspects of their fighting game, not just offense.
Footwork, head movement is also crucial in boxing.
I know you’re not a boxer. Why do you need footwork or head movement?
Well, the benefits you get from shadowboxing is improved balance and a good cardio workout.
So, even if you are not training to smash someone’s head in, you can gain a lot from shadowboxing that can help you in life.
Also, shadowboxing can make you lose a significant amount of calories. The calories you lose is, of course, dependent on the intensity you put into your workout.
If you don’t know anything about boxing, to help you get started, below is one of my favorite videos that explains a whole lot of basics.
Once you get the basics down, segment each to fit into 30 minutes shadowboxing routine. It may look like this:
- 10 minutes footwork
- 10 minutes head movement
- 10 minutes offense
There are many ways you can vary the routine. It’s up to you to choose which suits you best.
Skipping rope
Another favorite of mine is the skipping rope. I often accompany this with shadowboxing, but you can do it for 30 minutes if you can.
Everyone knows how to skip ropes, right?
Well, if you’ve been living under a rock, here’s what you do.
Swing the rope over your head then under your feet, jump over it, then swing the rope over your head, then back down to your feet. Repeat.
That’s pretty much it. Simple right?
Before you start jumping like a bunny that just found a carrot, make sure the rope is the proper length for your height.
To check the proper size, do the following:
- Using your foot, step in the middle of the rope.
- Make the rope taut.
- The end of the rope, not the handles, should be at mid-chest level.
- Adjust as necessary.
Now that you’ve adjusted your rope, you should be more efficient at skipping.
If you are just a beginner, familiarize yourself by doing a few skips. Keep skipping until you become a pro.
It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen. Do you think those pro boxers started doing fancy skipping rope tricks right from the get-go?
Jog in place
Jog in place is self-explanatory. Jog in place is moving your legs in a spot without leaving.
This cardio exercise can be done anywhere. In your house, at the park, in the toilet, in your cubicle. Wherever you are, you can do this.
When you eventually become fitter, increase the intensity by lifting your knees as high as possible.
Jumping Jacks
Jumping jacks is similar to jog in lace where you move your legs without leaving the spot.
Jumping jacks can be done as follows:
- Start in a neutral position where your hands are on your sides.
- Jump in the air and simultaneously clap your hands over your head.
- As you land, return your hands to your sides.
- Repeat.
Heavy bag
The last easy exercise to lose belly fat at home fast is hitting the heavy bag.
It’s easy to get your heart rate up with the bag. All you need to do is keep hitting the punching bag straight without stopping.
You don’t even need to know what you are doing. Just imagine that the bag is the cause of all your stress and worries and hit it. Hit it good.
Is this a good stress reliever?
Well, I don’t think so. I mean, your problem will still be there to think about even after you hit the bag.
A study found that people who hit the punching bag after being angered resulted in deeper aggression. Instead of “letting the anger out,” punching the bag resulted in increased aggression.
[source: Catharsis, aggression, and persuasive influence: self-fulfilling or self-defeating prophecies?]
So, hitting the heavy bag has no calming effects, as many others would love to advocate.
However, you are not here to be calm. You are here to learn the easy exercises to lose belly fat at home fast.
Hitting the heavy bag is fun, easy, and can make you burn plenty of calories in the process in the comfort of your home.
A caveat, you do need to buy the bag and training gloves.
If you are strap for cash, buy the bag second hand. I don’t recommend using someone else’s boxing gloves, though.
You can buy a decent pair for $50 in Amazon or a punching bag and boxing glove combo worth $77. Buy the combo. It looks like a great deal.
Easy exercises to lose belly fat at home fast – the short dose
There are many easy exercises to lose belly fat at home fast, and I’ve summarised 6 of my favorites.
- Walking
- Shadowboxing
- Skipping rope
- Jog in place
- Jumping jacks
- Heavy bag
As you can see, there are no crunches or sit-ups on the list. That’s because core exercises have no significant impact on burning belly fat.
Crunches or sit-ups tones your abs, so it’s more defined and gives it more pop.
The 6 exercises mentioned above are easy to do, fun, and costs less than a years worth of gym membership. You can do these exercises at home, saving you money and time.
I’ve gone to gyms and the travel time alone could take 30 minutes to an hour. While you could have bust out the skipping rope on the driveway and in half an hour, your cardio is done for the day.
You don’t have to drive to a gym that is packed full of people waiting for a machine. You don’t have to hear a pack of hyenas egging on another hyena. No, you don’t.
