The formula for weight loss is simple: more calories you take out than put in equals weight loss. But, getting there is hard. Almost impossible for some.
And, I know all about the struggles of losing weight. I have a body that puts on fat easily, hates muscles, and demands sweets all the time.
Trust me when I say that I struggle to lose weight. But, I get the job done. Here’s how you can lose weight too.
Lose weight fast
I know you want to lose weight fast. Heck, I wished for it all the time. But in the end, I went back to square one.
I lost weight rapidly and lost about 2 – 4 kg in a week.
But, I felt so sluggish, headaches were constant, and I was moody AF!
I lost about 12 kilos in a month but I gained it all back after going off the diet. It was so hard to maintain.
The fastest way to lose weight
If you still want the fastest way to lose weight then read on…
The fastest way to lose weight is to starve your body. The lesser calories you take in, the faster you lose weight.
But, you may end up like this guy…

But, let me tell you all about the bad things that can happen if you do decide to continue on a fast weight loss journey.
Losing weight fast is not only unsustainable, but it can also have a detrimental effect on your body. The following are just some of the effects of fast weight loss:

How to get skinny fast
All the side effects are worrisome but the loss of hair and muscle are enough to deter me from getting skinny fast.
So, you still want to know how to get skinny fast? If so, read on…
Look, I don’t want anybody to be skinny. It’s just not healthy.
You need muscles for everyday activities such as opening jars of pasta sauce, reflex muscles to catch the baby from falls, and simple things such as walking.
But, I can’t stop you from trying to look skinny as fast as possible. So, do the following for the fastest route to skinny, but be warned, it can be bad for your health:
- Don’t eat too much – When you eat more than you need, you gain weight. Simple as that.
- Exercise – Working out can further decrease the calories you take in.
- Drink water all the time – Drinking water can help you feel full, preventing you from, yup, not eating!
- Quarter your normal meal portion – Instead of halving your normal portion, cut the half in half.
- Stop eating sugar – Sugar is an empty calorie that can have a detrimental effect on your body.
- Cut back on fatty foods – Fat is a high-calorie food.
Doing these will get you skinny fast! Again, starving yourself to death for rapid weight loss can be harmful to your body. You’ve been warned. If you don’t want to die trying to lose weight, keep reading…
Safe Way To Lose Weight Fast-ish
Losing weight fast is that simple, don’t eat. But sustaining it is nothing but. So, you can try the following to safely lose weight fast (sort of):
- Intermittent fasting – IF or intermittent fasting is having a scheduled time for eating and not eating. Usually, a daily 8-hour window to eat or a 2-day fast weekly. The most popular is the 16/8 method. That is fasting for 16 hours and having an eating window of 8 hours.
- Calorie counting – Counting calories can be time-consuming and a nuisance. But, you’ll find that you may be eating more than you need.
I tried these methods to safely lose weight fast. And, it’s a better method than eating nothing until you’re skin and bones.
I recommend doing the 16/8 intermittent fasting if you want to lose weight faster. And, it’s easier than starving for 24 hours.
Fasting can be hard at first, but your body will adjust and it’ll become easier.
For me, I prefer IF to calorie counting. It’s just easier to skip breakfast than weighing your food, looking up food nutrition data, and keeping track of everything!
Diets best for weight loss
The diet best for weight loss is a diet you can stick to in the long run. What’s the point of dieting for a couple of months then going off the rails and gaining all you’d lost?
There are many diets claiming to be the best for weight loss. But, are they the best for you? The following are proven diets you can follow to lose weight:
- Keto – Very low or no-carb diet. Consists mainly of fats and protein. Your carb intake is limited to less than 50g a day.
- Paleo – The Paleo diet wants you to eat like a caveman. Yup, eat like you were in the stone-age. No, don’t go grabbing rocks and hunting chickens in the wild. Go to your local butcher and buy meat. Catch a fish at your local fish monger. Buy eggs, vegetables, fruits, seeds, and nuts. Don’t eat bread, sodas, or anything processed. But, really, just think of wholesome food without processed foods.
- Low-carb – Just like what it says, low-carb. Some may even think low-carb is the same as keto. But they have their differences. A low-carb diet allows 50-150g of carbs. The keto diet is more restrictive allowing only less than 50g of carbs. This is because more than 50g of carbs prevent ketosis.
One of the diets that I’d recommend is the Keto diet. I mean, what other diet lets you eat fat all you want and lose weight?
The Keto diet is essentially switching your main source of energy from glucose to fats.
Your body uses fats for energy when you limit or cut off the number of carbs you consume. This process is called ketosis.
Eating under 50 grams of carbs is usually the recommended amount for you to reach ketosis.
Again, the Keto diet may not be the best diet to lose weight for you. Studies show that the Keto diet can increase cholesterol levels in individuals.
So, don’t follow the Keto diet if you have the following:
- Liver disease – The Keto diet may also exacerbate existing liver problems due to processing so much fat.
- Kidney disease – Your kidney may not be safe due to so much protein.
- Constipation – Keto diet consists mainly of protein and fats but is very low in fibrous food.
- Irritability – Your brain needs a good amount of healthy sugar to function properly.

How much can you lose weight in a month
I lost about 9lbs a month on the keto diet.
But, keto is not for everyone.
So, all you need to learn is to count calories.
Counting calories is easy. The problem is that it is tedious and time-consuming.
The good news is that after a while, you know how many calories in one meatball or a bowl of rice. So, you can just eyeball things if you’re the CBF type.
The formula to losing weight is taking out more calories than you put in:
Weightloss = Calorie intake < Daily calorie maintenance level
To find out how much weight you can lose in a month, you have to know your daily calorie maintenance level.
Say I wanted to lose 10 pounds in a month and my daily caloric maintenance is 2000.
And one pound equates to 3500 calories apparently.
[source: Time to Correctly Predict the Amount of Weight Loss with Dieting]
To make things easier let’s find out how many calories I need to take out on a weekly basis if I wanted to lose 10 pounds in a month.
I’d divide 10 pounds by 4 weeks and I’d get 2.5 pounds.
If one pound equals 3500 calories, then multiply 2.5 pounds by 3500 and you’d get 8750 calories.
I need to be eating 8750 fewer calories from my maintenance level on a weekly basis.
Knowing your maintenance level is another time-consuming process. There are also many different formulas.
You’d rather spend that time on something more productive such as working out or spending time with the kids.
So, rather than giving you all the formulas in the world, an app like the Custom Keto diet can do all this for you.
With the app, you don’t need to calculate your daily calorie maintenance level or count calories.
All you need to do is input your desired weight and your preference to generate a personalized meal plan for you.
All you have to do is buy the ingredients, cook, and eat.
How to lose 5 pounds in a week
Losing 5 pounds in a week sounds impossible but it is not. However, it is important to note that the bigger you are, the more pounds you’ll lose.
So, a person that is 500 pounds will likely lose 5 pounds in a week compared to a person who is only 150 pounds.
Instead of asking how to lose 5 pounds in a week, you should be asking how to lose weight.
How to fast weight loss without exercise
Fast weight loss without exercise? Hmm…
The only thing I can think of losing weight fast without exercise is by doing the keto diet. I seriously lost weight eating all fatty foods without lifting a single weight.
The keto diet essentially switches your energy source from glucose to fats.
So anything you do such as walking, moving around, and simply talking, you’re burning your fat stores.
The keto diet is by far the best for losing weight without doing any type of exercise.

Ladies and gents, gather round, I’ve got a tale to tell. Picture this: a body that refuses to bulk up, paired with a metabolism slower than a snail’s race to the finish line. It’s a curse, I tell ya! But fear not, my friends, for I took this challenge head-on and became a scholar in all things weight loss and nutrition. And now, I’m here to share my tales of triumph (and some struggles) with you all, so you too can finally achieve that bod of your dreams! flex (just kidding, still workin’ on it).
