Weight loss journey – Starting weight
Today starts the third week of my weight loss journey.
The scale was playing up; it was giving two different kinds of numbers. One is 68.7 kg, and the other is 69 kg. Which one do I record? I decided to go for a higher number.
So, my starting weight on week 3 is 69 kg, which is 400 grams lighter than last week’s 69.4 kilograms.
Day 18
Monday, September 7, 2020
Today is the start of another week, and I’m happy that I have another chance to reduce my weight.
Although the losses are in grams, I can only be ecstatic that I am losing weight.
I started the day with a yummy breakfast. I ate kara-age chicken with the best mayo in the world, Kewpie.
Traveled to work and had my homemade lentil sandwich. And I had the same for my snack.
It’s great to work without your daughter by your side, wanting to play with you.
Don’t get me wrong. I love playing with my daughter, but I can’t get any work done.
I hit my favorite Netball place to do some cardio. No, I don’t play Netball. I go there often because it’s a massive park with 12 full Netball courts. There is considerably more space for people to work out than other places where you are crammed in with others playing, skating, and exercising.
After an hour of shooting around, doing drills, and shadowboxing, I went home.
I had tofu for dinner and finished the day off with coffee.

Day 19
Tuesday, September 8, 2020
Checking my weight, I couldn’t believe what the scale was telling me. My weight is 67.5 kilograms!
How the heck did that happen when my weight was 69 yesterday? I could think of two things.
- My clothes today are lighter compared to yesterday. I should really weigh my self naked.
- The scale is not leveled evenly, so it’s gone, wacko.
Perhaps it’s the real deal? Like, I lost one and a half kilos overnight, I doubt it. The reason should be one of the two I mentioned.
I guess we’ll have to find out tomorrow. I have a feeling it may go up. I did eat more than I should have today.
Also, I’d like to talk about lemon detox or lemon targetting belly fat. These claims are false. Lemon doesn’t have properties that may reduce belly fat or melt body fat.
What lemon detox do, or lemon water is that it reduces your calorie intake. So, if you are drinking high-calorie drinks, then replacing them with simple lemon water can reduce your overall calories.

Day 20

“Checking my weight, I couldn’t believe what the scale was telling me. My weight is 67.5 kilograms!”
That’s what I said yesterday. I couldn’t believe I lost 1.5 kilos overnight. But, I think I know why. My freaking scale is BROKEN!
I’ve been reading reviews online about scales, and they are all in favor of digital scales than mechanical scales. That’s the reason why I bought a digital scale in the first place.
But, my mother’s $9 mechanical scale bought a decade ago is still working and very accurate (I think). I will have to go my mother’s house and test its accuracy.
My digital scale that I bought for $49 is out of wack. I weighed my 7.5 kg weight plates and the scale returned 5 kg. Making it off by 2 kg!
Now, 2 kg is a LOT. We are not talking about milligrams here or even grams. So, I think I am off to buy a new scale, a mechanical type.
I ate too many eggs today, so no more eggs for the rest of the week. However, that’s not a promise. I may sneak one in during the week.
After lunch, I went to Bunnings and I bought Prospect’s weight scale. Amazon had great reviews on this product so I purchased it and it’s well in my budget.
Then, of course, I went to get my cardio done for the day, but it was raining. I had to go to my rainy day spot.
The spot can be dangerous in this area, especially when no one is around. When it rains, no one comes here to work out. And usually, after dusk, everyone goes home. I should come earlier, but I had other priorities.
I got my 30 minutes cardio, and I went home to have dinner. I wasn’t even hungry come dinner time. The food I had from lunchtime was so filling. So, I only ate one slice of wholemeal bread and one tablespoon of hummus.

Day 21
Thursday, September 10, 2020
I don’t know whether I should change all my weight entries because my scale wrecked my data.
So, my scale was off by 2 kilograms, probably my entire weight loss journey. What does that mean? Well, my data is screwed. Was the scale off by 2 kilos the whole time? I don’t know. It could have been off by more or less than 2 kilograms, or some days could have been ok. I will never know.
I decided not to change anything and start from where I am now. And, that is at 68 kilograms.

There may be a small difference or nothing all. Let’s just forget the previous weigh-ins and move on.

I checked my weight before breakfast, and I balled my eyes out. Tears were pouring down my cheeks as if I was accepting an Oscar for my performance. Do I deserve an Oscar? Watch below:
Today was busy, but I managed to sneak in my cardio and resistance training. No matter how busy your day gets. Set aside an hour of the day to work on your health and fitness. What’s an hour for a healthier, more vigorous life?

Day 23
Saturday, September 12, 2020
My family and I had a great time today, especially my energizer baby. Finally, my daughter gets to see a koala. She’s been talking about it all week. Well, she saw more than a koala. There were mice, kangaroos, birds, spiders, insects, and a crocodile.
We must’ve walked at least an hour because we went to the park at 10:30 AM and came out at noon, And we didn’t even stop for a meal. We got to the end, obviously, the retail section where you buy souvenirs. Unfortunately, the energizer monkey found something she wants and clung to it like glue. Fortunately, I have tricks under the bag and got her to return the cuddly toy.
We got home, and I am buggered. Although, my partner piggy backed our child most of the time. Before you go on, it’s not my fault the little girl wanted to be carried by her mother.
I didn’t do any cardio today, but I did my resistance training for my triceps. Then I had my dinner, made snack, and coffee thinking I’ll be up all night editing. But, once I hit the sack, I was gone.

Day 24
Sunday, September 13, 2020
Oh, it’s the end of the third week of my weight loss journey. And, look at what happened today! I ate a burger and loved every bite. I can count that towards my cheat meal for the week. However, I don’t have a cheat meal or cheat day. I don’t have a “diet” that I follow, but mine resembles more of a semi-vegetarian.
I couldn’t find any of the Burger Point burger calorie information on My Fitness Pal app so I used generic types. With the milkshake, I used MacDonald’s milkshake calorie information. The difference in calories is “probably” minuscule.
Even if I may have gone over my calorie limit for the day with my lunch, I had my dinner because I was hungry. I don’t believe in starving yourself to lose weight. Eat when you are hungry. However, don’t eat too hungry because you may end up overeating.
Let’s talk about the importance of recovery. I’ve been injured before, and it cost me days or even weeks of training. Inactivity can lead to weight gain, something you don’t want. I recommend avoiding injury at all costs. You can start by incorporating rest days if you are rigorously training.
