I’ve always been fat all my life.

Not the big fat type.

But the skinny-fat type.

When I was in my teens, my belly is at its biggest already.

I had no idea about nutrition back then because I was mainly eating sugar-laden food. 

I was eating food such as ice cream, Coke, chocolates, and my fav, macaroni salad. The macaroni salad is not your western macaroni salad, but our Pinoy macaroni salad.

I’ve tried many drugs and supplements for weight loss.

The following are the drugs and supplements that I’ve tried to lose weight:

  • Duromine
  • Hydroxycut
  • Raspberry ketone

Duromine

I know Duromine is not a natural supplement, but it’s what I tried. More on what natural supplements I recommend later.

I’ve tried Duromine, and I hated it.

It made me clean the house even when I hated cleaning. Duromine made me do something, anything.

My taste changed, I was anxious and restless, and I was having bouts of insomnia.

I stopped it after a week. It was bad.

I had a terrible experience. And my friend was the same. 

She would clean the house the entire day. 

She wasn’t getting enough sleep and was moody as F.

She lost weight but at what cost? 

She quickly put it back on though, and she’s thinking of getting another bottle of Duromine.

We humans need to sleep to recover, refresh and reenergize. Sleep is like a charger, and we are the battery.

Losing sleep is very unhealthy. I don’t recommend Duromine at all. 

Hydroxycut

Hydroxycut back then had troubles with the FDA. They had their formulations banned because of one suspected ingredient, Garcinia Cambogia.

Garcinia Cambogia may have caused liver failure in one individual. But, the case didn’t find that Garcinia was the culprit due to many mixed ingredients.

The report was published in 2016 but didn’t say when the patient reported the case, leading to his liver failure. 

However, there is something you should note here. You have to be educated in the supplements you’re taking, and it’s not just Garcinia Cambogia.

Moreover, you have to know any potential drug interactions that may lead to unwanted side effects.

Did I lose weight with Hydroxycut (Garcinia Cambogia)? No. 

But more importantly, I didn’t have trouble with my liver. 

Perhaps I wasn’t drinking it enough, or the garcinia Cambogia content wasn’t enough to kill my liver. I will never know because I will never buy supplements or any product containing Garcinia Cambogia. 

For this reason, we don’t put Garcinia Cambogia in any of our supplements. 

The Hydroxycut I bought was the protein powder kind and not capsulated.

I used the Hydroxycut as my pre and post-workout supplement.

I ate the same, which is usually plenty. 

But I’ve never lost weight. I’ve gained weight.

I’m sure I put on a bit of muscle because it was the first time in my life that I did resistance training.

And the gains are significant in the initial phase. But you can’t see that because I gained more fat than muscle.

Raspberry ketone

What I read on the label said to increase my energy and help me burn more fat.

Knowing nothing about nutrition and supplements, I went ahead and bought one. 

I took it for several months, but nothing changed.

Raspberry ketone didn’t give me a boost of energy, but it did give me plenty of false hopes.

Damn this marketing BS. I always fall for them. 

I did feel like my appetite reduced a little.

Let’s look at the research behind chlorogenic acid. 

Now there have been many studies on chlorogenic acid.

Let’s look at the latest report from last year in 2020. The information gathers past studies concerning green coffee and its effects on human health.

What I did do was eat fewer carbs and fat and more protein. My diet consisted of 45% protein, 30% carbs, 25% fats. 

I didn’t count calories as I always forget. I do recommend you to count calories if you’ve never done it before, though.

Counting calories is helpful by letting you know that you’re eating way more than you should. 

Many people echo the same thing when they’ve finally counted calories and realize how much they are overeating in a day. 

But you don’t have to be strict with the numbers. Concentrate on eating green leafy vegetables, lean protein, and lessen the fat. 

You also need to incorporate exercise into your healthy diet, especially if you’re not watching your calories.
