I’ve been taking many supplements as a preventative measure.
I’ve ingested thousands of supplement capsules, tablets, liquids, and powders.
With so many supplements in the market, it also got me asking.
What supplements should I take?
What supplements should I take for general well-being?
When it comes to general well-being, you have to speak to your doctor and do some blood work. I can only speculate what vitamins you are lacking or have in abundance.
You can take multi-vitamins, but that won’t address your problems. Or do you even have any deficiency?
I thought I had vitamin D deficiency because it is common for my ethnic background. Also, previous tests did show low numbers.
However, after some bloodwork, I found out that my vitamin D is more than average.
If I had been blindly taking vitamin D, the report could have been different.
I could have developed vitamin D toxicity which is quite rare, but it can happen.
The buildup of vitamin D in the blood can cause nausea, vomiting, weakness, and frequent urination.
Vitamin D toxicity might affect bone and kidneys, causing pain from the formation of calcium stones.
You might even be pissing expensive urine down the drain. Have you seen your urine turn fluorescent yellow after taking multivitamins or vitamin B?
Well, that is your body getting rid of the excess vitamin B. There are also severe implications of having too much vitamin B.
When you take too much vitamin B3, you might vomit, increase your blood sugar levels, and damage your liver.
High doses of supplemental B3 (niacin) may lead to vomiting, high blood sugar levels, skin flushing, and even liver damage.
Too much vitamin B6 can lead to nerve damage, light sensitivity, and painful abnormal skin growth.
So, as general advice, please don’t speculate on what vitamins you may be lacking. Take the blood test.
You don’t need multivitamins unless you are intentionally starving yourself. Malnutrition in developed countries is very uncommon.
What supplements should I take for weight loss?
After many hours of research, reviews, and my personal experience of many weight loss supplements, there is only one that I can recommend.
I only have two criteria when evaluating which supplements I should take. That is safety and effectiveness.
So, what supplements do I recommend for weight loss? I wrote about the supplements I should take for weight loss in the following article: Best supplement for weight loss.
I bought pricey weight loss supplements, from $50 to $70 a bottle.
I’ve lost thousands of $$$$ instead of pounds looking for the best weight loss supplement.
But, I only found the one ingredient that has worked for me, and it is green coffee.
The expensive supplements I bought from had bold claims:
- Lose x amount of kilos overnight!
- Wake up with six-pack abs by doing a 7-second ritual!
Did I say that I reviewed many weight loss supplements?
After many trials and reviewing ingredients, I found that green coffee has the most promising scientific evidence for weight loss.
And that is how Green Coffee 50 GCA came to be. From many research and my personal experience.
Anyone that knows me knows that I can eat. Like, seriously, I can eat. After taking the Green Coffee 50 GCA, my appetite was never the same.
With the supplement, I can’t eat much. It made me a believer in green coffee’s powerful chlorogenic acid.
And this study reveals that the participants experienced the same. After an 8-week green coffee extract supplementation, subjects reported reduced appetite.
Furthermore, green coffee had positive effects on cholesterol, blood pressure, and belly fat.

What supplements should I take for joint pains?
My joint pain problems started when I wanted to be a hero at the squat rack.
I went heavy, very heavy. As I went down for the first squat, I heard a subtle pop inside me.
The next thing I know, I’m lying on the floor in pain.
I managed to limp to a bench and sat down. I thought of calling the ambulance but decided to wait it out and see what happens.
After 30 minutes, I got better and was able to walk properly. I never actually got a scan on my back. But after that incident, my lower back gets sore after sitting down for a long time.
After a long drive, I have a hard time getting up from the seat. Plus, I have to stop for a stretch every few hours.
It’s true that once you break your back, it will never be the same. Take care of it.
I’ve tried many supplements for my lower back. You can read about them by clicking on the following article: Supplements for joint pain.
Essentially, I found the powerful joint pain buster in turmeric. Ayurvedic medicine has been using turmeric for inflammation for thousands of years. Yet modern medicine is only catching up.
Turmeric has many interests in both the science and medical fields. The studies show turmeric has many health benefits, including preventing cancer, rejuvenating skin, and weight loss.
Several multinational companies are already including turmeric in their skin products.
I think it’s only a matter of time before turmeric is used in conjunction with modern medicine in treating inflammations, cancers, and other diseases.
Long story short, I tried many supplements for joint pains, including chondroitin, fish oil, vitamin D, and magnesium.
The only thing that worked and quite quickly, I might add, is turmeric. However, as you may know, turmeric has a hard time being absorbed by our body.
Therefore we introduce Bioperine into our turmeric supplements. Bioperine contains piperine which has been shown to increase turmeric’s bioavailability by 2000%.
What supplements should I take for stress and sleep?
In my late 30’s, my sleep has gone down from 7 hours to only 3 to 4 a night. I didn’t know why? I thought it was because I was getting older.
My mother has the same problem, but she is already in her 70’s. But why do I lack sleep at my age?
I did a lot of digging and found that the average sleep I should be getting is 7 to 8 hours for my age. Any less, my health could be in dire straits.
Sounds right because I would feel the effect the next day. I was always sleepy and weak during the day. Coffee was my best friend.
I had to get some sleep before turning into a zombie, so I bought a costly supplement worth $69 a bottle.
Long story short, the supplement works, and I was able to catch some crucial zZzz.
The problem was, it’s dang expensive!
I know $69 is nothing compared to the health benefits I’m getting with proper sleep. However, there has to be an affordable alternative that is as effective. That’s where natural sleep supplement Dream comes in.
It has the same ingredient that will calm your mind, de-stress your body, and make you dream.
Do you know what happens when you dream?
You enter the crucial stage of sleep called REM.
REM (rapid eye movement) is believed to benefit learning, memory, and mood. REM could also be responsible for the healthy development of babies’ brains.
REM sleep-specific inhibition of theta activity results in a reduction in learning and memory consolidation. Intriguing new data also suggest that REM sleep may function to facilitate learning and memory by regulating neuronal synapses.[source: Biology of REM sleep NIH]
What supplements should I take is a question I’ve answered quite a few times. And I always come up with the same answer.
Want to know what supplements you should be taking? Ask your doctor. Get some bloodwork done and find what vitamins you could be lacking or are high in numbers.
When it comes to other issues such as joint pains, obesity, and sleep, I can recommend the following to try:
- Green coffee bean extract for weight loss
- Turmeric Bioperine for joint pains
- Dreams natural supplement for sleep
